Omrop Fryslân is the regional broadcasting station of Friesland. Omrop Fryslân creates radio- and television programs in the Frisian language, which makes the broadcasting station the only one in the Netherlands that does not broadcast in Dutch.

Omrop Fryslân is a broadcaster on the NPO which serves the Frisian community. Because West Frisian is an official language of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the NPO is also responsible for broadcasts in the West Frisian language.

Omrop Fryslân is also the regional public broadcaster for the province Friesland, and they have their own radio station and TV channel broadcasting primarily for the province itself.

The broadcasting station has approximately 150 persons in fixed service and also approximately 150 freelancers. Our broadcasting station works with a budget of approximately 13 million Euros a year, with that budget 17 hours radio and 2 hours television per day are made.

At the weekend, the station broadcasts one-hour television a day, on Sunday they broadcast a documentary in the Frisian language on national Dutch tv: Nederland 2. Omrop Fryslân also makes school television and school radio.
